How is BSMI certification applied for?

The following documents are required for all applications:

a.for type test:

• applicant (local representative) information
• samples, safety and EMC test reports
• required technical documents (i.e., layouts and circuitry, product specifications, Chinese user’s manual, list of EMI noise-source and suppression components)

b.for TAF ISO 9001 certification:

• Company licence or business registration
• Organization chart with leader’s name for each functional unit
• Quality manual, quality documents (i.e., document control, record control, internal audit, non-conformity control, corrective measures, preventive measures)

c.for factory inspection:

• application form
• fundamental information on the factory
• a route map to the factory location
• diagrams showing the layout of the factory
• a flowchart of the relevant production processes
• a brief description of the inspection and testing methods
• the type-test reports for the commodities, or documents demonstrating that the application for type test is filed
• a letter of authorization and legal identification of the appointed representative, if the production premises are not based in Taiwan
