ISO/TS 16949
As the Automotive Industry becomes increasingly international, the need has arisen for one accepted management system. The goal of ISO/TS 16949 is to create a harmonized standard that incorporates existing Automotive Quality Systems requirements into the global economy. Organizations that gain approval to this standard eliminate the need for multiple certifications.
This uniform quality standard for the automobile sector was developed by the International Automotive Task force (IATF, www.iaob.org) in accordance with ISO 9001. The standard ownership belongs to Italy's ANFIA, France's CCFA/FIEV, Germany VDA and Daimler Chrysler, and the USA's Ford and General Motors.
The ISO/TS 16949 is an international standard whose purpose is similar to QS-9000, as well as VDA6.1. Recently the IATF modified the ISO/TS 16949 and incorporated ISO 9001:2000 version. TÜV Rheinland Taiwan has been accredited by Germany's DAR/TGA and our auditors have been qualified to perform the audit.
