ISO 9001
The ISO 9001 family established by the International Organization for Standardization are fundamental requirements for quality management systems. These standards can be applicable to every industry. This voluntary-implementing system focuses on the quality management and aims to make sure that products meet customers' requirements.
ISO 9001: 2000
The ISO 9001:2000 combined the ISO 9001, ISO 9002 and ISO 9003 family standards published on December 15, 2000. But the transition period for ISO 9001/2/3:1994 will be effective in December 2003 yet. ISO 9001:2000 differs from ISO 9001:1994 in that the main infrastructure has been widely extended to every industry and includes customer satisfaction indicators that use the stream-management concept to conduct the management systems audit.
The goal is to give much emphasis on the customers' satisfaction and overall efficiency improvement.
ISO 9001:2000, quality management systems are composed of these eight principles items:
1. Customer focus
2. Leadership
3. Involvement of people
4. Process approach
5. System approach to management
6. Continual improvement
7. Factual approach to decision making
8. Mutually beneficial supplier relationship
High-level managerial positions can conduct the continuous system management in accordance with the above principal items .
