German expert invited to give speech on playground safety

In view of the increasing importance being given the topic of child safety, there is increasing concern regarding the fact that Taiwan's parks and playgrounds are full of equipment of inconsistent quality, which causes worry for parents and seriously impacts the safety of their children.

To address this matter, we held our first seminar on EN 1176 safety regulations for children's playgrounds safety. The EN 1176 standard, which serves as the basis for Germany's DIN 7926, focuses on playgrounds in Europe.It has been translated into multiple languages, and besides the EU has also been widely accepted as the core safety standard in many other countries.The standard aims to build safe playgrounds while also emphasizing educational functions and attractions.

The professional speaker, Mr. Berthold Tempel, is product-safety expert and quality auditor with our German headquarters unit, and also Chairman of the German Norm-committee of Child Playgroundoverseeing playground standards.The seminar topic covers the introduction of GS Mark application in playground equipment, indoor playground on-site risk analysis and safety inspection after installation.Members of various Taiwan government bodies and child-welfare organizations attended the seminar.It is estimated that there were over 70 individuals in attendance for this seminar, for which feedback has been positive.
